Remote Service
More productivity also in
banknote processing
Stoppages mean a loss of production
In the first part of our series entitled "The Future of the Cash Cycle" we discussed how an intelligent step forward can make cash transactions considerably easier. So much so that the workload can be reduced by up to 30%. In this second part, we would like to explain the opportunities presented by the Remote Service for banks and cash centers.
Stoppages and breakdowns are an annoyance for any business, but can never be entirely avoided. According to the VDMA (German Engineering Federation), breakdowns account for four percent of the available production time. Because every stoppage represents a serious cost factor for the company concerned, the duration of these incidents must be reduced as far as possible. The actual repair work only claims a small proportion of the stoppage time in the event of a breakdown. Much more time is expended searching for the fault, waiting for the field engineer, or ordering spare parts and waiting for them to be delivered.
Waiting for the engineer is a thing of the past
These factors can be lessened in particular through the use of online-based services. Increasing numbers of sectors and manufacturers are using ultramodern technologies and secure remote connections to offer their customers rapid support, wherever they may be. This means that it is possible to cut down on waiting and traveling times, and the intervals between the occurrence and elimination of a fault can be shortened considerably. The result is a clear advantage for productivity and quality, operating processes that are easier to plan, and last but not least, cost savings.
For the first time, Remote Service is now available for banknote processing. A new type of cooperation between the machine manufacturer and its customers is therefore possible from now on.
