G&D | CIPURSE - Contactless Ticketing

In recent years, there has been a major increase in demand among public transit operators for secure ticketing solutions. One of the key features of this industry is the prevalence of modern, future-oriented automated fare collection (AFC) systems based exclusively on contactless card technology. The benefits of this technology include fast transactions, multi-application capability, and security.

However, as recent experience has shown, many cards lack the security and flexibility needed to meet new requirements. In addition, transit operators are often critical of the fact that the majority of technologies available today are proprietary in nature. As a result, the desire for open specifications continues to grow.

The response: the CIPURSE open security standard from the OSPT Alliance, an organization co-founded by G&D in January 2010.

G&D has used the open CIPURSE standard to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of the market. Products are based on ISO standards 14443, 7810, and 10373, with security assured by 128-bit AES encryption. Transit passes can be implemented as ID-1 smart cards, tokens, or via mobile devices.
